Avela Home Service is pleased to announce that on Monday 1 June work will restart on planned maintenance services for housing association South Liverpool Homes (SLH).
All planned maintenance and repair work was suspended in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. This was the right thing to do at the time to protect our staff, SLH tenants and the wider community. But following changes to government guidance we will begin a limited programme of outdoor maintenance work such as roofing, exterior painting and boundary walls/fences.
The Minister for Housing wrote a letter to all social housing tenants on 18 May setting out how housing associations will be working towards resuming their normal level of service and we’re pleased to be helping SLH deliver essential repairs and maintenance services to their customers.
All tenants included in the programme will be contacted prior to work starting to address any concerns they may have around health and safety and social distancing procedures.
Avela Home Service delivers planned, routine and emergency repairs for SLH, alongside gas and electrical safety testing. We are working with SLH on a plan to safely resume a full repairs service including routine works inside tenants’ homes, for those who are comfortable with this happening.
